Crackle

Our new formula is an eco-friendly, natural food grade product that creates beautiful cracks with our Milk Paint.

Crackle medium is made by using Arabic Gum. It is a natural gum made of hardened sap taken from two species of the Acacia tree, Acacia Senegal and Acacia Seyal. Arabic gum’s mixture saccharides and glycoproteins give it the properties of a glue, and binder which is edible by humans.

Arabic gum comes in a powdered form, to create the correct mixture:
 -1 part Arabic Gum
 -1 part hot water

Mix together adding first the water, then slowly adding the Arabic Gum. This can be mixed by hand with a paint stir stick, or end of a paint brush, whatever you have on hand.

By applying a thicker amount of the crackle medium to your substrate you will achieve larger cracks, a thinner layer will produce smaller cracks.
